EWS.4 '18 STUCK
IN THE RUTS

EWS AUSTRIA / SLOVENIA
THIS EWS ROUND DEVOURED THE BEST RIDERS IN THE WORLD – BREAKING THUMBS, SPRAINING ANKLES, CAUSING FLESH WOUNDS, AND SENDING ASSES OVER ENDS.

This EWS round devoured the best riders in the world – breaking thumbs, spraining ankles, causing flesh wounds, and sending asses over ends. It was, as promised, one of the most challenging tracks to date in the history of the series. No one was immune, even Richie took a handful of tumbles and spent his time in the pits bandaging wounds. He would end the weekend with a 21st place finish. Shawn Neer also got up close and personal with the track a number of times, but made it across the finish line to take 28th. A gnarly crash took Jubal Davis out before he could even cross the start line – a disappointment for the first-year EWS racer. U21 phenom and boy wonder, Duncan Nason took a nasty spill on day one and had to pull the plug on day two. Not the outcome anyone wanted, but as we have said before and we imagine we’ll say again – that’s racing. The team now looks ahead to La Thuile, Italy July 21 – 22.
