For Round 2 of the EWS the team headed straight from the high desert of Chile into the lush jungle of Colombia. It was a drastic terrain change that highlighted the challenges of racing week to week. The boys could not quite adapt, and lines were blown in the muddy corners of Colombia. While the rain damped the results, the crowds kept spirits high for the racers. The Colombian's passion for racing was illustrated best in the urban stage. Crazed bike fans lined the street of Manizales shoulder to shoulder, leaving only the concrete of the race course visible.
After a weekend of battling the jungle rain and urban streets, Richie Rude ended up 24th, Jubal Davis 51st, and Shawn Neer 77th overall. In the under 21 class, Duncan Nason held it down for the team with 3rd place finish and maintained the lead for the overall title. The next event is a month away in Olargues - Montagnes du Caroux, France. Plenty of time to prep those mud tires for Europe.
