Garbanzo DH
Crankworx Whistler’s 20th anniversary opened with one of its most iconic events: Garbanzo DH. Known as a “vertical marathon,” the 7km course drops 3,400 feet through Whistler’s roughest terrain, demanding precision and stamina.
Defending champion Richie Rude proved untouchable once again, taking gold with a time of 12:08.870. Ryan Gilchrist powered into silver just 13 seconds back, marking a strong start for Yeti and setting the tone for the week.

Air DH:
From Garbanzo’s leg-burning descent to A-Line’s sculpted flow, the Crankworx Air DH delivers unabashed speed on one of Whistler’s most popular tracks.
Rude backed up his Garbo DH gold with another win. Teammate Tyler Waite wasn’t far behind, securing silver to give Yeti a one-two finish.

Trick Showdown
Originally scheduled for Friday night, the Trick Showdown—new to the Crankworx lineup—shifted into a jam-style session after rain rolled in. Despite the weather, riders threw down heavy tricks before worsening conditions forced an early close.
Robin Goomes landed a clean backflip that earned her gold in front of a roaring Whistler crowd—an ideal start to her weekend before Red Bull Joyride.

Dual Slalom
Still regaining speed and strength after a wrist fracture, Ryan Gilchrist was eliminated in the quarterfinals. But his season-long consistency secured him the overall Dual Slalom Series title.

Red Bull Joyride:
The final afternoon brought the sport’s biggest stage: Red Bull Joyride. In front of a hillside packed with spectators, Robin Goomes delivered. Improving on her second run, she scored enough to claim silver and finish second overall in the Slopestyle World Championship standings—further cementing her as one of freeride’s most accomplished riders.

Pump Track
Whistler’s brand-new Crystal Viper Pump Track closed out ten days of competition.
Though eliminated early, Ryan Gilchrist still celebrated big: his season-long results earned him the 2025 Crankworx Pump Track Championship. With that title, Gilchrist officially defended his crown as King of Crankworx, finishing the year with five gold medals and eight podiums despite injury setbacks.
