Racing and riding go hand and hand for me. I have always raced and always will, which is why it's so cool to be part of a brand where racing runs through its DNA. I balance riding with working a full-time job at a desk so please don't try and contact me between 12-1pm - I'll be riding.
Yeti bike of choice - why?
I spend most of my time on the SB160, but the SB120 has a special place in my heart. It's a true "little bike" in that it has the legs to sprint on XC trails and complete massive loops that require long climbs and technical descending. It makes my local trails fun because it feels like I have extra energy to climb faster, but still have enough squish to ride fun trails on the way down. I have commuted to work on this bike, ridden 50k XC races on it, and slung it over my back in the alpine. The SB120 is my good friend.
What is your first memory on a bike?
Riding my sister's purple TREK Mountain Lion in the snow because I couldn't wait for winter to be over.
Best feeling on a bike?
Accelerating out of a corner faster than you came in.
What is your biggest source of inspiration outside of mountain biking?
watch a fair bit of skateboarding just to remind myself that you can have fun anywhere. Always it's a good reminder to toughen up! Those guys are nails.
A word of advice to the groms?
Have fun, be good, go fast.
Speed or Style?
My heart says style but my reality says speed.
