Purchasing Associate

Hiring Date: January 2027

Location: Golden, CO

Reports to: Operations Manager 

General Summary:

Manages the end-to-end purchasing and materials flow, from supplier negotiation and PO receipt through manufacturing, stock balancing, inventory accuracy, and end-of-life liquidation. Works closely with Product, Sales, and IT to keep stock levels correct and ERP data reliable. This individual needs to have strong analytical skills, be extremely organized and detail oriented. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create, maintain, and oversee receipt of purchase orders 
  • Partner with the Product team to negotiate pricing 
  • Manage supplier relationships and communicate forecasts 
  • Maintain optimal stock levels while balancing inventory investment against cash flow 
  • Work with suppliers and Logistics to keep inbound arrival dates accurate in the ERP 
  • Set up and maintain part numbers 
  • Create and manage bills of materials (BOMs), including part changes in [job/work order] processing 
  • Partner with team members to keep landed cost data (freight, duties, and fees) current and accurate 
  • Maintain data integrity in the ERP for part numbers 
  • Perform month-end WIP variance analysis and balancing 
  • Track and help liquidate products at end of life 
  • Work with sales, logistics and IT to maintain the accuracy of internal inventory management systems 
  • Assist in cycle counts and year-end physical inventory 
  • Monitor inventory transactions from receipt through production to shipment to verify they hit the correct General Ledger accounts 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Previous ERP experience required 
  • College degree or equivalent work experience required 
  • 2 years of bike operations experience preferred, purchasing experience required 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail 
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access 
  • Capable of working in a dynamic, competitive environment, sometimes with short deadlines 
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with modern data, CRM and AI tools as part of the daily workflow

This position is located at our office in Golden and is not available for remote work. 

Compensation Range:

$65,000-80,000, depending on experience.
