ADVENTURE/RACER/COACH

Ever since walking in the doors of Yeti Cycles nearly 17 years ago, I have been one of the lucky ones to call my vocation my dream job. From planning the Yeti Gathering for 12 years straight, to being the race promoter for the Mountain States Cup, 2009/2010 USA Cycling National Championships, and Big Mountain Enduro, and creating the Beti Bike Bash and VIDA MTB Series from the ground up, it has always been my MO to bring people together through mountain bike experiences that inspire them to do what they love with others who share the same priorities. Always a racer at heart, the formative years of pushing myself through cross-country and enduro, set the foundation of using bikes as a tool for riding new trails, exploring the inner and outer limits of who I am, finding adventures in the most uncanny places, and sharing stories through creative writing and content production.

Yeti bike of choice - why?
In a world of N+1, I will always default to my tried and trusty SB140. Spry enough for an all-day adventure and forgiving enough for progression sessions.
What is your first memory on a bike?
Long before strider bikes existed, you could say I went mountain biking for the first time the day my training wheels came off my bike when my dad pushed me down the cobblestone streets of Hocheim, Germany. Sheer terror rapidly turned into sheer delight and I got my first hit of adrenaline.
Best feeling on a bike?
Visualizing yourself overcoming a feature with a fistpump at the end. And then doing it in real-time.
What is your biggest source of inspiration outside of mountain biking? Why?
Skiing will always be my first love. It inspires the fluidity, balance, speed, and feeling of floating down a mountain.
A word of advice to the groms
Mountain bikes can open doors for a life lived to it's fullest. Most importantly, stay consistent and never lose touch with why you started.
Speed or Style?
Speed. You can take the girl out of the XC but I will always hunt down the rabbit in front of me.
Top 3 riding destinations?
New Zealand, British Columbia and the Colorado Trail.
